Jurgen Klopp provides update on Andy Robertson

Liverpool news: Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Andy Robertson is sitting out of the Bournemouth clash as a precaution. He reportedly felt something and was thus omitted from the squad but will be fit to face Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.

The Reds take on Bournemouth today after suffering 2 losses last week. Klopp’s men are still on course to win their first Premier League title but need a win against Atletico Madrid to stay alive in the Champions League.

Klopp told BT Sport: “He would have started today but then he felt [something] slightly. But it’s all good, it will be fine for Wednesday. But not for today.

“So we didn’t want to have him on the bench and see Robbo and think, ‘Maybe we can bring you [on]’. It wouldn’t make sense today. That’s the reason and he will be fine.”

James Milner stepped in as the make-shift left-back today.

While Robertson is expected back for the Champions League clash, Alisson will be missing because of a hip injury.
