Chelsea Transfer News: €150 Million Move For Victor Osimhen?

Xabi Alonso is a month away from officially taking charge of Chelsea, but the manager has been working behind the scenes with the Sporting Directors.

Chelsea signed Joao Pedro and Liam Delap last season to bolster the attack, but only one of them has managed to impress. The Brazilian scored 20 goals across all competitions, with nine assists, while the Englishman finished with eight goal contributions and picked up as many cards.

Marc Guiu is still at the club, but the Spaniard is expected to leave in the summer. He has interest from several clubs, but could be on his way to Strasbourg, of all clubs, if a reasonable offer does not arrive.

Emmanuel Emegha is set to join the Blues this summer after a deal was agreed last year. Meanwhile, Nicolas Jackson is also back after Bayern Munich opted not to exercise their option to buy.

Only Joao Pedro has his spot in Alonso’s squad confirmed, while Emegha is also not expected to be going anywhere, unless it is a loan, which also looks highly unlikely.

Chelsea eyeing more firepower in attack

Despite having options at his disposal, Alonso is reportedly keen on adding one more striker this summer. According to a report in Sabah, Chelsea have reignited their interest in Galatasaray star Victor Osimhen.

They claim that the striker is keeping his options, but the Turkish side are unwilling to sell for less than €150 million. The report comes just weeks after Arsenal and Barcelona were also linked with the former Napoli star.

Nigeria manager Eric Chelle speculated last week that the striker was in talks with a club to make a switch this summer. However, Osimhen was quick to rebuff the claims, saying it was a miscommunication and that he was not considering an exit.

Chelsea tried to sign Osimhen in 2024, but they failed to reach an agreement with the forward. John Obi Mikel was relentless in his efforts to bring his countryman to Stamford Bridge, while Manchester United also held talks but opted against it.
