Barcelona make defender available for summer transfer

Barcelona are ready to make some big changes in the next summer transfer window. The club is ready to bring in new players to reinforce their ageing squad.

Sport has reported that the Blaugrana are ready to sell Samuel Umtiti next summer to generate funds for the transfer window.

The Frenchman was also available last summer but due to his fitness issues, no club really managed to sign him. He has shown signs of his previous form at the club, but that has not been enough to convince the Catalans to keep him at Camp Nou.

The World Cup winner was signed from Lyon in 2016 for 25 million euros and he has a 500 million release clause in his present contract. Though current manager Seiten is aware of the player’s ability but he has understood that he is destined to lose the defender.

He had his knee issues, the club wanted him to get a surgery done but he resisted as a result of which his injuries have further aggravated. There has been interest from Juventus, Arsenal and Manchester United in the past for the former Lyon defender.
