Tottenham sack Jose Mourinho after Everton draw
Tottenham Hotspur have sacked Jose Mourinho as per reports in the media. Ryan Mason and Chris Powell will be in charge at Spurs until the end of the season.
Tottenham were not on a good run under Jose Mourinho’s job was on the line. Spurs have lost seven of their last 14 Premier League games and are now 5 points behind 4th placed West ham United, with six games to go.
However, with Chelsea and Liverpool sitting above Tottenham in the table and having a game in hand each, the London side could fall further behind. Spurs were on a stunning run at the start of the season and were even favourites for the title at one point.
Jose Mourinho leaves the club with a terrible record, and Tottenham become the first club where he has not won a trophy. Spurs are up against Manchester City in the League Cup final this weekend and have a chance to end their trophy drought.
The sacking comes less than 12 hours after Tottenham announced they were a part of the clubs forming The Super League.
Julian Nagelsmann has been rumoured to be the #1 target for Tottenham but the RB Leipzig manager has been linked with Bayern Munich as well.
