Two Chelsea stars out of Brentford clash
Chelsea will be without Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ben Chilwell once again this weekend. The two players are still on the sidelines, but the rest of the squad is available for Thomas Tuchel.
Speaking in his pre-Brentford press conference, Tuchel did not shed light on when the players would be back in training. The Chelsea said:
“Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ben Chilwell will miss the game. Callum still feels his Achilles a little bit and has lower back problems. Everyone else was in training.”
Chilwell is not expected to play for Chelsea this season after his ACL injury against Juventus late last year. The left-back is back in light training but is yet to join up with the first team.
Hudson-Odoi still has Achilles tendon problems that is keeping him out of action. He has played 28 matches in all competitions this season – the last one coming in a 3-2 win over Luton Town in the FA Cup.
The good news for Tuchel would be the return of Reece James. The Englishman was out for the last couple of games, which was a worry for Chelsea. He had just returned to the starting XI against Burnley but missed the games since then.
