Why N’Golo Kante missed the Burnley game
Chelsea news: Frank Lampard has revealed that N’Golo Kante missed the Burnley game because of a hamstring issue. The Frenchman got injured in training on Friday and did not recover in time for the game.
Lampard confirmed that he gave Kante time until this morning before deciding not to pick him for the game. Talking ahead of the game, Lampard said:
“He reported some feeling in his hamstring yesterday after training. We gave him overnight to see how it was but it wasn’t good enough this morning so not good enough to play.”
Frank Lampard on N’Golo Kante
“Everybody knows how important N’Golo is for us but these things always give an opportunity and it opens the door for Ross Barkley to come in and play.”
Ross Bakley got a rare start in the Premier League with the absence of Kante. The Englishman has played full 90 minutes in the league just once this season and that came early at Norwich City.
This is the 3rd time this season Kante is missing a couple of games due to an injury. It is a surprise for the Blues faithful as the midfielder has been injury-free for the last 4-5 years.
