Sources: Chelsea still in the race for Jadon Sancho
Chelsea rumours: Hakim Ziyech has joined Chelsea but that has not put an end to The Blues’ pursuit of Jadon Sancho. Sources have told Nitwik Football that the Europa League champions are in still in talks with Borussia Dortmund for the young winger.
Sources report that Chelsea were keen on securing a deal for Sancho in January itself but Dortmund were reluctant to let go of him. The arrival of Erling Halaand saw The Blues make fresh inquiries but BVB’s stance did not change.
Chelsea then tried to get a deal agreed fo the summer, just like they did for Christian Pulisic las year, but that too was rebuffed by Dortmund. The German side were not willing to listen to any offers as they are keen on collecting as much revenue as possible from the transfer.
However, Chelsea believe that they will still be able to lure the Englishman to Stamford Bridge this summer. They have also made it clear to BVB that they will not be reluctant to break the £100M barrier to get the 19-year-old.
As per the same sources, Frank Lampard is the one keen on getting this deal done as he rates the former Manchester City player very highly.
Manchester United, Barcelona, PSG and Liverpool are also keeping tabs on Sancho as per other reports while Manchester City are also in the running with Leroy Sane likely to leave.
