Chelsea defender out of Bournemouth clash
Chelsea news: Frank Lampard has confirmed that Fikayo Tomori will not be involved against AFC Bournemouth on Saturday. The defender is out injured but is expected to return to training next week.
The youngster has not been involved in the last few games due to the same. Antonio Rudiger and Kurt Zouma are expected to be the main defenders tomorrow.
Tomori and Zouma were the centre-backs Lampard preferred after the injury to Rudiger. However, Tomori too has suffered an injury but it has not been disclosed to the fans or media.
Tomori signed a new deal until 2024 last night after an impressive start to the season. Lampard has made it clear that he is a big part of his plans but there are still links with Nathan Ake.
The former Chelsea defender is at AFC Bournemouth right now and is a target for Manchester City as well. Chelsea do have a buy-back clause in his contract that is reportedly worth £40 million.
