Manchester City failed with €75M bid for Serie A star
Manchester City had a €75 million bid rejected for Milan Škriniar according to FC Inter News. They report that Inter Milan rejected the offer as they were looking for a minimum of €100 million for the defender.
City are expected to head back in for Škriniar in January as per the report but will face competition from PSG. The Ligue 1 side have entered the race as well as they are looking for a long term replacement for Thiago Silva.
Pep Guardiola was keen on signing a centre-back in the summer to replace Vincent Kompany. There were rumours about Nicholas Otamendi leaving the club as well but he stayed put after City failed to sign any central defender.
The Cityzens tried to sign Harry Maguire s well from Leicester City but Manchester United snapped him up. Guardiola later revealed that they pulled out of the deal as £80 million was not something they could afford.
Škriniar signed a new deal at the San Siro club in May and that will keep him there until 2023. The defender reportedly nets €3 million a season plus bonuses.

FC Inter News are very reliable for everything related to the Nerazzurri. Manchester City were indeed looking for a defender in the summer and given that Škriniar is one of the top defenders right now, it is not a surprise that Guardiola targetted him.
