Everton keen on signing Manchester City star
Everton are looking to sign Fabian Delph this summer according to reports in Sky Sports. The Manchester City star has just one year left on his contract and has reportedly been told he can leave.
Delph was signed from Aston Villa when Guardiola came in but has never managed to impress as a midfielder. He was forced to play as a left-back after Mendy suffered an injury and that was his best contribution to the side.
Now with Angelino re-signed from PSV, Mendy fit and Zinchenko doing well, Guardiola has reportedly decided that he does not require Delph at the club. Moreover, Rodri has been signed from Atletico Madrid as a backup for Fernandinho making it impossible for Delph to get into the team even as a substitute.
Marco Silva is looking to sign Delph as a back midfielder and not a left-back according to The Guardian. They report that the Everton manager is happy with Baines and Digne as his left-back choices but wants a midfielder signed as James McCarthy and Muhamed Besic could leave.
Rumour Ratings: 9/10
Sky Sports and The Guardian are reporting the story and it looks like the Toffees are indeed keen on signing Delph. The midfielder would also be open to joining them if he is given assurance over game-time as that is the main reason for him looking to leave City this summer.
