Yannick Carrasco breaks silence amid Arsenal rumours
Yannick Carrasco to Arsenal has been one of the transfers that have been making the rumour mill for some time now. The Belgian has been linked with the Gunners since his time at Atletico Madrid but he opted to move to China instead.
In January, the rumours were back and now they are stronger than ever. The Dalian Yifang star has admitted that he wants to leave the Chinese Super League and move back to Europe this summer.
However, he has also added that a decision is not final and he will allow the Dalian Yifang president to have the final say. The Belgian made it clear that his wish is to move away but would not be willing to go AWOL in order to get his move.
In a recent interview, Carrasco said: โThe whole world knows that I want to return to Europe. Now, it depends on the president and I hope he finds a solution.โ
When asked about Arsenal, he replied: โI can’t speak about the club. Now I am not the one who chooses, but my president. He decides if he lets me go or not, but I hope I can come back.โ
Arsenal were looking to sign him on a season-long loan with an option to buy while Dalian Yifang wanted a straight sale. The Gunners were the only side in the race for him but that changed last week after Bayern Munich entered the race.
The Bundesliga champions were chasing Callum Hudson-Odoi and Leroy Sane but with both players failing to make it clear if they wanted a move to the German side, they have started looking at other targets.
Reports in Germany suggest that Bayern want Carrasco this summer and are already in talks with Dalian Yifang.
