West Ham United agree ‘terrible deal’ to sell Marko Arnautović
West Ham United have agreed a deal to sell Marko Arnautović according to Sky Sports journalist, Kaveh Solhekol. A Hammers source has also informed him that the deal is a terrible one but the manager, players and staff wanted him out of the club.
Kaveh tweeted: “Confirmed that West Ham have agreed to sell Arnautovic. Told ‘it’s a terrible deal for us but manager, players and staff want him out’”
Reports suggest that the striker is on his way to China and will be joining Shanghai SIPG. The deal is reportedly worth around €25 million – less than half of what the CSL club offered in January.
Shanghai SIPG had made a £45 million bid for Arnautovic in the winter transfer window but the Hammers were reluctant to sell him. The striker did try to force a move but then made a U-turn and stayed at the club.
Inter Milan were also linked with the Austrian striker but he was only their ‘Plan B’. The San Siro side are keen on signing Manchester United‘s Romelu Lukaku but with the Red Devils pricing him out of a move, the Serie A side were looking at Arnautovic.
West Ham United have a deal in place for Maxi Gomez but are still waiting for the player to agree terms with them.

Kaveh Solhekol is a reliable journalist and West Ham were looking to let go of him this summer.
