Sources: Chelsea and Leicester City interested in Aston Villa’s Tyrone Mings
Aston Villa news: Tyrone Mings’ future at Villa Park is in doubts as Aston Villa battle in the relegation battle. The 26-year-old defender is already attracting interest from other Premier League sides.
Sources have told Nitwik Football that Chelsea and Leicester City are interested in signing the English defender in the summer. The two sides are keen on adding an experienced centre-back in the summer and Mings has been scouted by both sides recently.
This is not the first time Chelsea have shown interest in signing Mings. The Blues were scouting the centre-back while he was at Ipswich Town but Jose Mourinho decided not to sign him.
Chelsea already have Fikayo Tomori, Kurt Zouma, Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen battling for the centre-back position. However, they were looking to sign Nathan Ake in January but then decided not to go ahead and activate their buy-back clause.
Leicester City, meanwhile, are looking to get a long term replacement for Jonny Evans, who turned 32 this year.
Aston Villa are not looking to sell Mings at the moment but are open to selling him if they are relegated. However, they will not be selling him easily and are hoping for a bidding war between the Premier League clubs for their prized asset.
