Eden Hazard reveals when Zidane called him to join Real Madrid
Real Madrid news: Eden Hazard has claimed that Zinedine Zidane first called him to join Real Madrid back in 2016. The Belgian was keen on working under the Frenchman but stayed at Chelsea for another 3 seasons before making the move.
Hazard was talking to Sport/Foot Magazine when he revealed that he did not speak much to Zidane before the move. However, he added that the first call was made by the Madrid manager back in 2016 and he wanted him signed.
“I didn’t talk much with him (before joining). The first time was during the 2016 European Championship in France. He called me and said: ‘It would be good if you came’. When Zidane calls you, it’s serious!”
Eden Hazard on Zindane calling him
Hazard spoke about the 3 years he spent at Chelsea after Zidane’s call and said they were less enjoyable because of the Italian managers – Antonio Conte and Maurizio Sarri.
The Belgian has not been in great form ever since he joined Real Madrid. He has scored more for his national side this season than his club. At the Spanish side, he has just one goal and one assist to his name this season.
