Ander Herrera makes bold statement about Neymar
PSG News: Ander Herrea has backed Neymar to win the Ballon d’Or in the near future. The PSG midfielder was talking to the media after their 1-0 win in Ligue 1 over Lyon on Sunday.
Neymar scored the 87th-minute winner for the Ligue 1 champions amid boos from the fans. The win helped PSG stay 3 points clear of Angers and OGS Nice, who are on 12 points after 6 games.
The Brazilian was keen on leaving PSG in the summer and rejoin Barcelona but the two clubs could not agree on a fee. Herrera, who arrived in the summer on a free transfer from Manchester United, was reluctant to talk about the failed move for Neymar and was focused on heaping praise.
“I’m delighted to play with Neymar. I will not talk about his transfer window. Now, Neymar is with us. He is a fantastic player who can be Ballon d’Or, this season, in a year, in two years. We are very happy. I hope he can play like that all season,” the midfielder said. [via L’Equipe]
