PSG eye Liverpool’s Michael Edwards as reshuffle at the club begins – Sources
PSG are looking to appoint Liverpool‘s sporting director, Michael Edwards, as Leonardo’s replacement.
Edwards will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season and has been linked with Real Madrid. The 42-year-old is now on the radar for PSG, who believe they will be able to lure him in the summer.
The French side are not happy with yet another Champions League exit and have already made some big decisions. Leonardo is one of the high-profile exits that has been decided, and the club are now on the hunt for his replacement.
Edwards is believed to be their primary target, given his track record at Liverpool. The sporting director took over in 2016 and has transformed how the Reds dealt with transfers.
Another name that has been added to the mix as Leonardo’s replacement is Tottenham Hotspur Managing Director of Football Fabio Paratici. The Italian was appointed by Spurs last summer, and he managed to lure in Antonio Conte – a manager PSG have been linked with in the past.
However, sources at the Tottenham have confirmed he will not be moving any time soon as he has over a year left on his current deal.
Other high-profile exits at PSG are likely to be club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, head coach Mauricio Pochettino and their top striker Kylian Mbappe, who has refused to sign a new deal at the Ligue 1 side.
