Amorim has asked Manchester United to sign an attacking midfielder and the club have contacted Jorge Mendes. The super-agent helped the forward get a move to Chelsea last summer, but the Blues are already open to cutting ties.

The Sportzine understand that the first contact for Joao Felix took place on Tuesday afternoon.

Enzo Maresca’s side paid ยฃ45 million to sign the former Barcelona loanee from Atletico Madrid in the summer. They were close to getting Samu Aghehowa from the Spanish side before the move collapsed. Roja Blanocs were adamant about selling a player to the Stamford Bridge side before completing the paperwork for Conor Gallagher.

Manchester United and Chelsea have been involved in transfers lately with Mason Mount heading to Old Trafford for ยฃ60 million in 2023. Jadon Sancho joined the Blues on loan for the 2024/25 season with an obligation to buy at the end of the season.

The two clubs are also in talks for Alejandro Garnacho, but The Sportzine understands that Napoli are currently leading the race. The Argentine is keen on staying in the Premier League and that could help the Blues land the winger from the Red Devils.

Apart from Joao Felix, Chelsea are also ready to offload Ben Chilwell, Axel Disasi, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Carney Chukwuemeka.
