Sources: Manchester United eye move for former Liverpool star
Man Utd rumours: Emre Can has emerged as a target for Manchester United as per our sources at the club. The Juventus midfielder has played 274 minutes in the league this season while being left out of the Champions League squad.
The German has played in the Premier League and was a key player at Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp. However, he decided to leave the Reds and join Juventus when his contract at Anfield expired.
Things have not gone his way and he is looking for a move away from Turin now. Ole Gunnar Solskjær is keen on signing a midfidler this window as Paul Pogba is ruled out indefinitely. The Frenchman is set to undergo an operation on his injury and is very likely to be out for 2-3 months.
Emre Can is currently the top target for Manchester United while Newcastle United’s Sean Longstaff is also on the list. They tried to sign him in the summer as well but were unable to strike a deal with the Magpies.
Our sources have also revealed that Borussia Dortmund are also looking to sign him. The Bundesliga side have sold Julian Weigl to Benfica this transfer window and are now looking to sign a replacement.
Sources close to the player, however, have claimed that Emre would not prefer a move to Manchester United because of his connection with Liverpool.
