Liverpool target confirms he will be leaving current club this summer

Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans has confirmed his exit from the club this summer as reports of Liverpool interest emerge.

The Belgian International arrived in Leicester City in January 2019 on loan from AS Monaco and completed a permanent move to the former Premier League club in July of that year. Tielemans has now confirmed that he will be leaving this summer with two English clubs interested in signing the player.

He took to Instagram to share a heartfelt post about his time at Leicester City and thanked the fans for their love since his first day in the club. He penned an emotional note to bid farewell to the team, the staff and the board among others.

“Dear Leicester City fans, after 4.5 special years and with a lot of gratitude I’m bidding farewell to this incredible club. From the first day I set foot on this ground, your warmth and passion embraced me. Victory and triumph, love, hope and even defeat. We’ve shared many special moments together,” wrote Tielemans.

He continued, “I am forever grateful for your unwavering support. Thank you to Khun Top, the board, the staff, the players and the fans for having given me and my family a home. This is not a goodbye, but a heartfelt farewell.”

Arsenal has held an interest in Tielemans for a long time. Recent reports have suggested that Liverpool has now joined the race and are keeping a close eye on the midfielder who has turned into one of the most sought-after players in Europe.

He reportedly didn’t sign an extension at Leicester City in 2021 in hopes of playing Champions League football. With Liverpool failing to qualify for UCL next season, second-placed Arsenal might have an edge over the Merseyside club in their chase for the Tielemans who will be a free agent this summer.
