Liverpool provide injury update on Trent Alexander-Arnold
Jurgen Klopp has confirmed Trent Alexander-Arnold is back in Liverpool training. However, he is in a touch-and-go situation for the game against Watford at Anfield tomorrow.
The German manager was talking in his pre-match press conference when he was quizzed about the right-back. Klopp confirmed that the Englishman was back on the pitch but is yet to decide on his game time tomorrow.
The manager said:
“He trained yesterday in parts of the session and he will train today. Then we will see what we do. It will be tight for tomorrow, but it’s not impossible. Physically he should be fine, it’s about rhythm.”
The manager revealed that he expects Trent to be fully fit for the Champions League game against Benfica next week.
Klopp had announced that the 23-year-old ‘would be out for weeks’ after injuring his hamstring ahead of the international break. The defender missed the FA Cup win over Nottingham Forest and was withdrawn from the England squad.
Liverpool will be taking their time with Trest as they have a potential Premier League title-deciding clash next weekend at Manchester City.
