Javier Tebas hits back at fans calling for Goal-Line technology in LaLiga after controversy during Real Madrid vs Barcelona
LaLiga president Javier Tebas was not happy with fans calling for the goal-line technology following the controversy during Real Madrid vs Barcelona.
He has hit out at fans calling for the introduction of goal-line technology in LaLiga with a cheeky post on X. The president of the league posted screenshots of articles talking about the mistakes made by the technology as a quick reply.
The fans were in unison on Sunday night when they were calling for the technology to be introduced in La Liga. All the major top-flight leagues in Europe use goal-line technology, but La Liga have refused to do it for years.
Javier Tebas wanted to prove a point and posted on X:
Controversy during Real Madrid vs Barcelona led to the fans calling for it after VAR had to check several angles to see if the ball had crossed the line. A corner for the Catalan side was deflected goalwards by Lamine Yamal, and it was unclear from all sides if Andrey Lunin had managed to keep it from crossing the line.
Tebas has stated that the goal-line technology is too expensive to implement in the league.
