Did Iceland qualify for EURO 2024?
Iceland stunned England in a friendly but will not be playing at EURO 2024 this summer. They failed to qualify for the tournament in Germany at the final hurdle earlier this year.
Fans around the world have been checking to see which group Iceland will be playing in this year at the EUROs after they defeated England on Friday night. However, Strákarnir okkar are not in Germany this summer.
They were in the EUROs playoffs earlier this year but were beaten by Ukraine in the final. Chelsea star Mykhailo Mudryk scored an 84th-minute goal to help his side seal a 2-1 win and end Iceland’s dream of playing at the summer tournament.
Iceland failed with two bites at the cherry to qualify for EUROs. They first finished 4th in Group J during qualifers after losing six of their 10 matches.
They had the chance to make it via the playoffs, and even made it to the final after beating Israel 2-1 in the semifinal. In the final, they took the lead through Albert Guðmundsson but second half goals form Viktor Tsyhankov and Mykhailo Mudryk saw them lose 2-1 and head back hom.
