Frank Lampard hails injured Chelsea star as one of the best in the world
Frank Lampard has hailed Chelsea captain Reece James as one of the best right-backs in the world.
Frank Lampard was talking to JOE this week when he claimed that James was unlucky with injuries. However, he still backs the Englishman as one of the best in the world.
He added that the was communication between the two as he checks in on the defender he managed at Stamford Bridge. The Blues captain played 59 matches under Lampard at the club, scoring three and assisting seven times.
Speaking to JOE, Lampard was quick to remind the fans that Chelsea were without one of the best players in the world this season. He said:
“Reece James is one of the best right-backs in the world in my opinion, absolutely in the world when he’s fit. Having a few issues, I’m happy to be there and ask ‘how are you feeling or what’s going on’ and be that person.”
The Blues have used Malo Gusto as a backup for James and the Frenchman has delivered more often than not.
