France have managed to sneak a win against Austria in their EURO 2024 opener. An own goal separated the two sides at the Dรผsseldorf Arena.
Kylian Mbappe was in the limelight again, but his hunt for the first EURO goal continues. His cross deflected off Maximilian Wรถber into the Austrian next and that was the only goal of the match.
The new Real Madrid signing had the chance to double the lead in the second half, but put his effort wide of the goal in a 1v1 situation. Austria had chances to get on the scoresheet, but they failed to make the most of it.
