Carlo Ancelotti set to be named new Everton manager
Everton rumours: Carlo Ancelotti will be named as the new Everton manager as per talkSPORT. They report that the Toffees are looking to have him in charge of the Leicester City game this coming weekend.
The Merseyside club were on the lookout for a new manager after sacking Marco Silva. They put Duncan Ferguson in the hot seat for the time being and he managed to pick up 4 points from the two games – including a 3-1 win over Chelsea.
UPDATE: Telegraph are now reporting that Ancelotti has agreed a deal in principle to become the next Everton manager. The contract offered to him will see him remain at the Merseyside club until 2024.
Ancelotti was sacked by Napoli just hours after the Italian side made it to the Champions League Round of 16. He was linked with the Arsenal job as but David Ornstein confirmed that the Gunners were not interested in him.
Everton were then the front runners and have now secured the deal as per talkSPORt. Sky Sports reported that the former Real Madrid manager was in the United Kingdom to hold talks with the Toffees today.
Ancelotti is not a newcomer to the Premier League. he was in charge of Chelsea for 2 years (2009-11) and won the league in his very first season. He won the FA Cup as well that season but was sacked a year after finishing the season trophyless.
