Chelsea target suffers hamstring injury; set for weeks on the sidelines
Unai Emery has revealed that Chelsea target Jhon Duran is injured. The Aston Villa manager states that the striker is expected to be out for weeks following the hamstring injury.
Chelsea are keeping tabs on the young striker and have reportedly lined up a bid for the Colombian. Matt Law of The Telegraph has claimed that a late approach in the winter window is on the cards.
However, the Blues might have to shelve the plans until the summer as the striker is injured. Emery was talking in the pre-Chelsea press conference when he said:
“Jhon Duran is now injured, but I am happy with him. The last action against Everton he was injured. For the next weeks he is not going to be available.”
Aston Villa signed the striker from MLS side Chicago Fire in 2023. They paid £13.75 million for the striker, with a possible £4.25 million more in add-ons.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are looking to sign a striker this window and have been linked with Newcastle United‘s Callum Wilson. A loan move for Karim Benzema has also been reported in the media.
