Chelsea star could leave on a free transfer
Antonio Rudiger could leave Chelsea soon as he is yet to sign a new deal.
Simon Johnson reports the German has 12 months left on his contract but has not put pen to a new contract. Thomas Tuchel has been relying on Antonio Rudiger since his arrival, and the former AS Roma defender has been a vital part of the backline.
Antonio Rudiger joined Chelsea in 2017 and has had a sinusoidal time at the club. He came close to leaving Stamford Bridge last summer after reportedly falling out for then-manager Frank Lampard. Tottenham were the front runners at that point, but the German stayed put.
As per The Athletic, Antonio Rudiger is looking for a 4-year deal. He wants to focus on EURO 2020 before heading back to Chelsea and deciding on his future. The report also suggests the German defender has interest from several clubs.
If Antonio Rudiger decides to leave the club, he could become the 2nd center-back to head out. Fikayo Tomori is on the verge of joining AC Milan as the San Siro side are looking to exercise their option to buy.
On the other hand, Thiago Silva has agreed an extension and is staying at the club for another season. Andreas Christensen is in talks over a new deal and is expected to stay at the club.
