Chelsea told to sign another Ajax star
Chelsea rumours: New signing Hakim Ziyech is reportedly attempting to convince the Blues to make a move for Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana.
Ziyech will arrive at Stamford Bridge in the summer after agreeing a £37 million deal with the Premier League outfit. However, he is keen on bringing his Ajax teammate and close friend Onana with him to Chelsea.
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is on the lookout for a new goalkeeper considering the struggles of Kepa Arrizabalaga this season.
After a string of high-profile errors, the Blues’ record signing has been consigned to the bench, with Willy Caballero taking over first-team duties.
However, Lampard does not view Caballero as a long-term option, and with Kepa proving to be more miss than hit, he is keen on strengthening that department in the summer.
Onana has developed into one of the top goalkeepers in Europe and will cost the Blues around £40-50 million if they choose to make a move for the 23-year-old.
