Chelsea and Ajax talks in a deadlock over transfer fee
Chelsea have reportedly set the price for Hakim Ziyech at €44 million. The Moroccan star was linked with a move back to Ajax this summer.
As per a report by Mike Verweij, Chelsea and Ajax are caught in a deadlock for the transfer. The fee is the stumbling block as the Dutch side did not expect it to be this high.
Ziyech has not been a regular under Tuchel for the past few months and the Blues are ready to cash in on him. AC Milan were also in talks to lure him on loan, but that move also hit an iceberg after the two sides failed to agree a fee.
The winger is keen on leaving Stamford Bridge and was also linked with Manchester United. He joined Chelsea from Ajax in 2019, and has not managed to make a big impression, but has won the Champions League at the club.
The Eredivise champions see Ziyech as a replacement for Antony, who is determined to join Manchester United. The Red Devils have been asked to pay €100 million for the Brazilian, and the bid is said to be imminent.
Ajax are now contemplating if they should go ahead with the move for Ziyech, or look for a cheaper alternative. The report claims that they could also block Antony’s move to Manchester United and keep him for the season.
