Chelsea agree deal to sign Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid

Chelsea have agreed a deal with Atletico Madrid to sign Joao Felix. The Portuguese star will be penning a six-year contract with an additional season this week.

Felix has found his next club and will be moving to Chelsea, the side he spent six months on loan in 2023. The Atletico Madrid star has agreed terms with the Stamford Bridge side and will be making the move this week.

The two sides have been in talks for Felix in the last week after the deal for Samu Omorodion fell through. The Atheltic have reported that the Spaniard was close to joining, but a final hurdle ended the move.

Atletico Madrid pushed the pause button on signing Conor Gallagher from Chelsea as they wanted to make a sale before signing the Englishman. The midfielder was in Spain last week but had to fly back as the two sides could not agree a deal for Felix.

The 24-year-old is a part of the Atletico Madrid squad this evening as they take on Villarreal. Gallagher will be moving for £33 million, with the Portuguese star moving in the opposite direction for a similar fee.
