Bayern Munich star wants to leave Bundesliga champions in January
Bayern Munich transfer news: Thomas Müller is looking to leave Bayern Munich in the winter transfer window according to Christian Falk. The SPORTBILD journalist claims that the German forward has asked for permission from the club to leave in January.
Flak also reports that Jurgen Klopp wanted Muller at Liverpool in 2015 while Arsenal were also keen on signing him at the same time. He also adds that Luis van Gaal tried to sign him at Manchester United but could not persuade him to move.
Müller has become an irregular figure in the starting XI these days under Niko Kovac. The manager has opted to go with Philippe Coutinho, Kingsley Coman and Ivan Perisic behind Robert Lewandowski, leaving Muller on the bench more often than not.
The German has started just 3 Bundesliga games this season and was substituted in every single game. He has only played the full 90 minutes once this season and that cane in the DFB Pokal win at Energie Cottbus early in August.
Müller turned 30 last month and has not been at his best for a few months now. However, some top clubs could still be interested in him as he has enough experience to get back to his best.

While Christian Falk hasn’t been the best source for transfer rumours recently, the journalist is known for his connections inside Bayern Munich. Muller’s situation at Bayern also hints that he could be on the move soon but his destination is still unknown.
