Barcelona could use an audacious strategy to bring Neymar back to Camp Nou
Neymar to Barcelona saga seems to take new turns with each passing day. Last summer as well Barca and PSG were heavily involved in negotiations to bring the Brazilian to Spain to no avail.
Despite failing to sign Neymar last summer, this has not deterred the club to pursue the Brazilian. Now, ESPN is reporting that Barcelona are planning to use Article 17 FIFA’s transfer regulations to sign him.
Andy Webster used this Article to leave Heart of Midlothian and sign for Wigan in 2006, though he still had a year left on his contract. As per Article 17 of FIFA’s transfer regulations a player can move out of their contracts once his three-year protection period ends.
The Catalan giants will attempt to use Webster as a precedent to sign to Neymar from the Ligue 1 giants. Barca view the 28-year-old as an incredible player and the heir to Lionel Messi. They would do everything possible to bring him back to Camp Nou.
Though Barca will first attempt to negotiate a transfer fee with PSG to sign Neymar. In case they fail to do so they will use this ambitious method.
