Barcelona identify Quique Setien replacement
Barcelona have identified Ronald Koeman as the replacement for Quique Setien. The current Barcelona manager has been sacked by the club following his failure to bring success to the club in his short time at Camp Nou.
Fabrizio Romano reports that the Spanish club will be announcing the appointment this week. They are yet to officially sack Setien and both announcements are expected soon.
Ronaldo Koeman is currently the manager of the Dutch National Team and was expected to remain there until the end of EUROS. The tournament was supposed to take place this summer but has was postpone to the summer of 2021 because of the Coronavirus.
Barcelona will now be working with their 3rd manager in less than 8 months after Ernesto Valverde was sacked in January. The Catalan side were keen on getting Xavi or Mauricio Pochettino as well but they have opted to go with the legendary defender instead.
Ronald Koeman last managed a club in the Premier League where he was in charge of Everton. He was sacked by the Toffees after just 16 months in charge as they started the 2017/18 season in terrible fashion.
