Barcelona star wants to join Manchester United in the summer – Reports

Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong has reportedly decided he wants to join Manchester United next summer. 

Erik ten hag has been handed a massive boost if a report by Fichajes is to be believed. The Dutchman rejected multiple chances to join the Red Devils last summer as he wanted to fight for his place at Camp Nou.

The Spanish publication claim that De Jong wants to quit Barcelona at the end of the season and leave on a permanent transfer.

The 25-year-old reportedly spoke to the Manchester United manager and informed him of his wish to move to Old Trafford. He worked under the Dutchman at Ajax, which saw him on the Red Devils’ radar in the summer of 2021.

Barcelona’s financial crisis saw them forcing De Jong to leave last year, but the Dutchman was not moved. He wanted to fight for his place and decided he was not leaving, regardless of who was bidding for him.
