Arsenal set to battle Tottenham for the next Christian Eriksen

Arsenal have joined the race for RB Salzburg‘s Hannes Wolf as per reports in the Mirror. The youngster has been dubbed as ‘the next Christen Eriksen’ and is also being scouted by several other clubs.

Tottenham, Southampton and Everton are said to be the other Premier League clubs interested in him. Other reports suggest that he is a target for several German sides as well, including RB Leipzig.

19-year-old, Wolf came into the spotlight after shining in Salzburg’s UEFA Youth League glory in 2017. He scored 7 goal in 7 games in the competition and then set up both the goals in the finals to help his side lift the trophy.

He has now played regularly for the Austrian side. So far, he has 45 apps under his belt, scoring 12 goals and assisting 8. He has also earned a call up the Austrian national team but is yet to make his debut.

Several scouts have been spotted at Salzburg’s games this season and Wolf is said the be the main target for several sides. He has 21 apps this season and has netted 4 goals and assisted 9.

While Mirror aren’t the most reliable source out there, they do have some good contacts within the English clubs. Arsenal are on the hunt for a long-term replacement for Aaron Ramsey and Wolf might just tick all the boxes for the Gunners.
