Thomas Tuchel confirms four Chelsea players to miss Real Madrid second leg
Chelsea will be without four players for the second leg against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League. The Blues are 3-1 down after the home leg last week because of a Karim Benzema hattrick.
Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that Romelu Lukaku has not recovered and will be missing the second leg. Callum Hudson-Odoi is also set to remain on the sidelines along with Ben Chilwell.
Ross Barkley is the final player ruled out of the Champions League quarter-finals. Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta will be back in the squad after missing the 6-0 win over Southampton due to COVID19.
Tuchel revealed the team news hours before the team takes off for Madrid. He said:
“Callum Hudson-Odoi out, Ben Chilwell out, Romelu Lukaku will not travel with us due to the pain in his Achilles. Azpilicueta has tested negative and is in the group. Ross Barkley is sick and will not travel; everyone else is in the squad.”
Chelsea need a minimum of two goals without a reply to take the game into extra time.
