Barcelona target Premier League star as ‘Plan B’
Barcelona have already started planning for next season. The priority of the club is to add a centre forward who can compete with Luis Suarez.
The Uruguayan is the only high profile centre forward at the club and he is currently 33 years old.
Now Sport is reporting that the Catalan giants first choice is Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez, but they are also ready to target Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as a contingency plan.
Barca did target Aubameyang in January but they were not successful in convincing the Gunners to part away with their talisman midseason.
The former Dortmund star has already rejected a new deal at the club and in June he will have only have one year left on his contract. Though the La Liga giants prefer Martinez due to his age but they do realise that it will much easier to negotiate for Aubamenyang.
The Gabon international has previously spoken of his desire to play in Spain one day also he would be a much cheaper option that the Inter Milan star.
