Chelsea defender to join Brighton and Hove
Chelsea rumours: Tariq Lamptey is set to join Brighton and Hove according to The Athletic. They report that the young defender will be leaving Chelsea for around £3 million.
The 19-year-old was handed his debut by Frank Lampard against Arsenal last month but has not started a game yet. He is in the final 6 months of his Chelsea contract and was not willing to sign a new deal.
Chelsea did offer him a new contract but the full-back was reluctant to sign it just yet. The Blue shave now decided to cash in on him rather than letting him leave for free in the summer.
Lamptey is a pacy right-back who has the qualities to become one of the best in the world in the next 5 years. However, he faces tough competition at Chelsea with Reece James just getting into the team right now.
