Wolverhampton star leaves for Serie A
Wolves news: Patrick Cutrone is set to join Fiorentina on an 18-month loan deal with an obligation to but as per Fabrizio Romano. The Sky Italian journalist reports that the Wolverhampton striker will be leaving just 6 months after joining from AC Milan.
Cutrone was signed to help Raul Jimenez and add more firepower to the attack but has failed to live up to the expectations. He has made 20 appearances for the club so far but managed to score just 3 goals.
Fiorentina have now secured him on a loan deal and will be signing him permanently in the summer of 2021. The 22-year-old will be signed by the Serie A club for £15.3 million according to The Guardian.
The transfer fee will be less than what Wolves paid AC Milan for him in the summer. That includes the loan fee as well and it a small loss for the Premier League.
Cutrone just did not seem fit for Nuno EspÃrito Santo’s tactics and will be going down as a flop in the club’s history. He was the 5th most expensive signing by Wolves – joint with Pui Patricio.
