Tottenham sack Mauricio Pochettino and his coaching staff
Tottenham News: Spurs have confirmed that Mauricio Pochettino and his coaching staff have been relieved of their duties. Along wiht the manager, his coaching staff of Jesus Perez, Miguel DโAgostino and Antoni Jimenez, have also left the club.
Following the sacking of the manager, Tottenham chairman, Daniel Levy said โWe were extremely reluctant to make this change and it is not a decision the Board has taken lightly, nor in haste.โ
โRegrettably domestic results at the end of last season and beginning of this season have been extremely disappointing. It falls to the Board to make the difficult decisions – this one made more so given the many memorable moments we have had with Mauricio and his coaching staff – but we do so in the Club’s best interests,โ added Levy.
Pochettino was under immense pressure after a poor start to the season and was one of the managers who were in the firing line. Spurs are 14th in the Premier League table with just 14 points โ 6 away from Watford and Southampton in the relegation zone.
The club have revealed that they will provide an update on the new coaching staff in due course. Rumours suggest Jose Mourinho is the front runner while Julian Nagelsmann has also been named.
