Sources: AS Roma looking to sign Arsenal’s Granit Xhaka on loan in January
AS Roma News: I Giallorossi are looking to sign Granit Xhaka on loan in January as per our sources at the club. The Serie A side are desperately in need of midfielders and are trying to take advantage of the Swiss international’s situation at Arsenal.
Xhaka’s response to jeers from Gooners at the Emirates in their 2-2 draw has received mixed reactions and most of the fans believe he should not be their club captain anymore. The midfielder was booed on his way out during the draw and he responded by telling supporters to “f*** off” before taking off his shirt and walking straight down the tunnel.
Unai Emery has confirmed that Xhaka is sad and devastated and needs to be ‘recovered’ as a human first before he is back on the pitch. “I spoke with Granit on Sunday, on Monday and again in training and it is not easy for him. I don’t need his apology to me because I know he is devastated. He is very down and we need to support him” said the manager.

AS Roma are currently without a lot of their players due to injuries. Davide Zappacosta, Lorenzo Pellegrini, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Amadou Diawara, Nikola Kalinic and Bryan Cristante are out injured for the Serie A side.
Paulo Fonseca has been forced to play Gianluca Mancini as a defensive midfielder and the manager has already asked the club to sign 1-2 midfielders in January. Getting Granit Xhaka on loan would be the best deal for all parties but Arsenal will look to sign a replacement before letting him leave.
