Sources: Barcelona to decide Ernesto Valverde’s future this week
Barcelona news: Ernesto Valverde has not had the best of starts at Barcelona this season and things do not look good for the Catalan side. The fans have been calling for his sacking ever since the Liverpool defeat but the board have stuck by the manager.
However, things are set to change for Valverde as the board are set to decide his future this week. As per our sources at the club, the board will hold a meeting this week but his sacking is not guaranteed at this point.
Sources add that the manager has lost the faith in the dressing room and many of the senior players are not confident in him anymore. However, the board could keep him at the helm for another month before sacking him.

Valverde’s contract at the club expires in 2021 and the manager is not thinking of leaving any time soon. The former Athletic Bilbao coach believes that he can turn things around at the club and just needs everyone to be fit once again.
Lionel Messi is back in full training but is yet to start a game. Meanwhile, Luiz Suarez has just returned from a small injury while Antoine Griezmann is just getting adjusted to life at Camp Nou.
Barcelona have won 2, lost 2 and drawn 2 in all competitions this season so far. They lost to Athletic Bilbao on the opening day and to Granada last night.
They have, however, won both their home games so far this season – both 5-2 wins over Real Betis and Valencia in La Liga. They were outplayed in the UEFA Champions League match at Borussia Dortmund but walked away with a point thanks to Marc-André ter Stegen.
