Pep Guardiola blasts journalist for ridiculous question
Manchester City have become the first men’s side in England to win the domestic treble! The Cityzens have been in top for in 2019 and that has seen them walk away with the Premier League, Carabao Cup and the FA Cup.
After a stunning display in the final that saw City win 6-0 against Watford, Guardiola was talking to the media. During the interaction, the former Barcelona manager was asked if he received any extra payment from the City owners.
Rob Harris, the journalist was referring to the rumours of Roberto Mancini getting an additional payment after he guided them to the league title in 2012. Reports suggested that City owners gave the former manager a ‘consulting fee’.
Guardiola got furious at the question and replied: “Do you realise what you are asking me? You are asking me that the day we won the treble? Are you accusing me?” [H/T Sam Lee]
